Bird Flu Advice and DEFRA Updates
Bird Flu has been confirmed at three linked premises. The latest was on 27th January 2017.
You can find the government updates on Bird Flu (Avian Influenza) here on the DEFRA website. And DEFRA have requested chicken keepers take precautions to help stop the spread of Bird Flu. Key is keeping your birds “housed or, where it is not practicable to do so, requires steps to be taken to keep them separate from wild birds”.
There are a range of other measures you can take to keep your birds safe from Bird Flu.

The public advice from DEFRA at this time is that: “Public Health England advises that the risk to the public health is very low and the Food Standards Agency has said there is no food safety risk for UK consumers.”
