Helping Wonky Pet Rescue
We heard about a lot of worthy causes in our recent competition, and Wonky Pet Rescue was one that stood out, with numerous mentions about the great work they do in rescuing and rehoming chickens. We are delighted to help out with the donation of a ChickenGuard Premium Combi.
Wonky Pet Rescue operate from foster homes mainly around the Midlands, Shropshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire. Established in 2012, Wonky specialise in all sorts of rescue animals who have issues, whether they be physical, medical or psychological. Wonky Pet Rescue are a non-destruct rescue centre which means that animals that are deemed un-rehomable remain with them for life.
Co-Owner Tracy told us: “We have around 250 poultry at the rescue of all shapes and sizes, with over 140 cockerels which, as you can imagine, get dropped on them all of the time from various sources. Also Wonky unfortunately have to take lots and lots of “school hatching project” chicks, when they suddenly realise the fate of the majority of male chicks that are hatched out and then going back to the “farm” when reality is its the incinerator.”

Wonky Pet Rescue is run totally by volunteers and receives no funding to help run the rescue. Instead Wonky rely solely on donations and regular fundraising efforts to fund the treatment for the animals in their care.
Wonky also care for geese, bantams, ducks and turkeys here and even have a resident peacock!
