Every morning and every night we had to physically open or close the door to the coop. Not really a burden but sometimes late at night I would suddenly remember that I had forgotten to close it. A couple of times it happened after we were in bed. Now it’s much simpler.

Installed the new all in one before leaving for vacation. Everything went great and it makes me have a peace of mind to know the girls will be safe while we are gone. Thank you

Below average instructions. Flexible installment. Modestly sturdy. Very durable and works/adjusts as advertised. Pleased.

This chicken door was very simple to install, program and operate. Not like the cheap Chinese junk you get from Amazon that only works for a couple months. This door is pretty large so should suit even the fattest birds.

Old ChickenGuard was simple (sliding aluminum door in hardwood frame with string to lift). New one has gear. Will it work in icing conditions? We’ll find out. New one allows remote control via Ethernet cable. Love the idea, but short cable limits utility. So I made my own, but larger Ethernet cable diameter really needs to be “shoe-horned” into the thin-diameter slots. My 30-ft cable works great but the ChickenGuard cable routes should accommodate slightly larger cable (the cable that comes with the unit is relatively thin and short). Great ideas. Would just like to see them mature into a product that could be implemented with these considerations.

My Chickenguard door replaced a piece of junk door that didn't open and close when it should. It was easy to install over the existing hole. The solar panel is doing its job very well. This door has been reliable and is well made. While i spent more than I had initially intended, the door is worth the money. I would buy it again and recommend to anyone!

We've never needed an automatic chicken door because we had livestock guardian dogs for the past 14 years. However, with our last older dog passing in November, we've had lots of predator problems but we don't want the work and barking and escaping that a large dog entails. I wanted to go with an automatic chicken door that had different programming options for opening and closing times. We've had the door for several weeks. I love that there is a 3-year warranty in case something electronic malfunctions. Now that the hens have an automatic door, we programmed it to not let them out until 9:00 a. m so that our flock of 185 young hens could help each other learn to use the nest boxes properly instead of laying all of their eggs in the grass. Best perk ever!!! We did mount the coop door 3.75 in off the ground (on top of a 2x4) to help prevent mulch bedding from sliding in the track. We actually use large -ish pieces of mulch that would certainly get into the door frame. The only problem is that some of our young hens decided to roost on top of that 2x4 ledge, preventing the door from closing, but the automatic safety did not crush the chicken. But we had to go out several evenings as they were going to bed to train them to go in properly. They're only 20 weeks old o they still have funny chicken ideas. we will be purchasing another door so they have more entrance space.

Works great, even in extreme cold. The time has cut down on my early slogs out to the backyard. Couldn’t be happier!
