We love it! It allows our pets that lay eggs (chickens) to be out and about during the day and be safely locked in their coop at night even if we're gone for several days.

Quick install
Super simple install. Only concern is the auto-stop isn’t working and we’ve already had one girl get stuck. Thankfully I heard her and was able to get her out quickly.

Works great
Easy to install, ridged rails so the door slides easily up and down. Have purchased two of these now for two separate coops.

Chicken Door
This self locking door seems to be great. We will see how it functions through the winter. Then we will consider adding the control unit

Great Product
So far it has done as expected. Easy to install and has worked flawlessly. Don't know if cold weather will affect it this winter. The only downside was I has first installed their classic metal door and it worked great but decided to change to the self-locking one, but had to rework the opening because they were not the same size.

Nice door, well designed to work with opener
I got the door opener from someone who no longer used it, but I didn't have a chicken door or opener on my coop (built late last year). As the spring months approached, I thought about designing and making my own door, but I looked into the products from Chicken Guard and figured it would save me considerable trouble to just order the self-locking door kit. Overall I am quite satisfied. The opener and door work great together. At first I was worried that the door is a bit small for my chickens (they are Jersey Giant breed, which is a pretty big chicken). But they seemed to adapt to it quite readily, and comfortably fit through it. I needed to install the door on a coop made with metal siding, which presented a bit of a challenge. In order to do this, I cut a piece of plywood about 40 inches high by 15 inches across, and installed the door and opener onto that (cutting the door opening into the lower half of the plywood). I could then test that it was all functioning properly via the light sensors, before mounting anything onto the coop. The mounting to the sheet metal just required a bunch of self-tapping roofing screws, plus cutting the opening with an angle grinder. Now I really don't worry about letting my flock into their yard in the morning, or shutting up the coop at night - it's all automatic! Happy chickens and owner.
