Only thing that could be improved is that the door tracks. Kind of disappointing that they are made of plastic and not metal. Overall tho, everything is perfect. We've got no complaints as of right now.

I have had an automatic door for 10 years. Has not failed me once. The new one is for another coop. It has worked as expected. Great piece of mind. Don’t have to worry about my ladies being safe at night.

Happy so far. Will see in a year.

I have 2 of these doors. One has been running for 2 years. The batteries last at least a year (i actually cant remember if i have ever changed them) Once set up both doors have always opened and always closed without fail except one instance were a mouse had chewed through the string one night. From -4°F - over 100°F they have never failed.
The light sensor for opening is set way to bright the way they come. Mine would not open until an hour or more after dawn on cloudy days. The company instructed me on how to override the minimal setting and that solved the issue. I highly recommend this door!

Our first chicken guard was struggling a bit, but it was operator error. We bought an new unit since the old was nearly eight years old and we need to be assured it is in perfect operating order. We loved the addition of the door and it looks clean and nice.
