We had the string chicken guard for 8 years and the string was a pain-it got caught up at least once a year and had to be untangled. We are excited about the new design but with the large shelf of the controller being right where the door needs to move, we are concerned that snow buildup may prevent the door from opening. We will see in the next few months! Otherwise, we did buy the largest size and it still had to be modified to fit our cozy coop doorway because it was smaller than the door.

great door replace a cheep one from amazon, the chicken gard door is way better, more sturdy and critter proof, works like a charm.

We bought thus to go on our metal sided chicken house. It worjs perfectly . The smallest hens to our large duck fit through.

The installation instructions were easy to understand. With a little modification to my chicken coop, I was able to quickly and easily mount the automatic door. My only feedback would be to have an option for an extension cable for the solar panel, for optimal placement, and to include information about all the additional features/settings included within the electronic program. However, the ability to sleep in soundly, knowing my chickens aren't stuck in a hot coop during the early summer mornings, is worth every penny spent! Thank you SO MUCH!

Just installed two days ago, easy set-up and works great!

I have only had it for for about two weeks, but as of today it works great.

This door is a total game changer. No more running out the door to let the girls out in the morning. No more remembering to close it at night. It is fantastic. Will definitely buy again if I get another coop. Chicken math, am I right? Totally worth the money.
